My 7 tips to prepare your home to help you achieve the highest price in the current market in a quicker time frame. You can start by asking a friend, neighbor or agent to be brutally honest about the condition of your home. 

Clear all the clutter 

Consider removing large furniture including books, furniture and the clothes hanging in your closets, and it has the added effect of making small spaces seem bigger.

A fresh lick of paint

This is a non expensive way to make the rooms feel new again. Remember to stick with neutral colors , rather than going with strong tones that prevents prospective buyers visualize their next home 

Fix and clean

Fix those small jobs that you have been putting off – holes in walls, broken door knobs, cracked tiles, torn or threadbare carpets. Remember that many buyers want to move in without making changes

Clean everything until it sparkles. Get rid of limescale, clean and repair tile grout and wax wooden floors. This will make the place more appealing and allow viewers to imagine living there

Research shows that bad smells is the biggest turn off for prospective buyers. Get rid of odors including smelly drains, stale cigarette smells, strong cooking smells etc... 

If you have a fire place  consider burning some pinecones for the delicious smell and even bake some cookies. This will make your home feel warm and inviting.
