Wondering how to help your community during these uncertain times?

Wondering how you can support your community during these uncertain times.

Hi it's Danny Valencia here with My City nest and today I'm going to share with you just a few tips. As to what you can do to help your community during these challenging times. And the very first thing I want to point out is a local food banks. Now these guys do some great work in the community throughout the whole year and they have challenging times, even just in normal circumstances, but right now I've been communicating quite a few food banks in London and they're really struggling. So if there's anything that you can do to support them during these uncertain times, definitely reach out and see what you can donate in these challenging times. The second advice I'm going to share with you is, support your local independent businesses. Unfortunately, some of these guys are not going to make it during these challenging times. So, some of them continue to be open of course, depending on government guidelines and yet when they are able to open again support them because at the end of the day, these are the guys that give the lifeblood of the community and the local neighborhoods.

The third advice I'm going to share with you is just supporting and checking in with elderly neighbors or vulnerable neighbors. Now I know there's some great groups out there and yet these groups are unable to help these vulnerable people without the support of neighbors who actually can identify who these vulnerable people are. So just checking in with them whilst obviously keeping your distance and being respectful to them. And the last advice I want to share with you in supporting your community during these challenging times. It's just follow government guidelines, whether that's limiting the amount of times you're going out to do a little bit of exercise or doing necessary shopping, whether that's washing your hands or not touching your face and just keep social distancing. So I hope this is helpful. I know there's a lot of information out there. If there's anything that we can do to support our community, please feel free to reach out to us.
